Vortex Research HPS Water Jackets
At Vortex, we have the solutions for your lighting problems! Both conventional systems for high pressure sodium lights using water jacket cooling systems. Or our alternative e-light approach.
Conventional 430w high pressure sodium water jacket model. This configuration provides approximately 450-500 micromoles at 4 feet with a power density of about 100 watts per sq. foot (1000 watts/sq. meter).
We can accommodate 250w, 400w and 430w in the 4" diameter model. For 600w, 800w and 1000w configurations we use a 6" diameter unit. Both 4" and 6" diameter models come in single or dual bulb design and are provided with 1/2", 3/4" or 1" female N.P.T. fittings in each end. Cylinders are provided as required in either glass or acrylic (default is acrylic).

Vortex HPS water jacketed lamps in operation
In operation is a set of 24 dual bulb water jackets using 430w lamps (as shown above). The system has an overhead of about 29 kilowatts. A similar system is being assembled that will use the Vortex e-Lamp system and will require less than 5kw to operate.
